Patience Pays
by SS Meher Kaur Khalsa, Phoenix AZ Winter 2016 “When I say patience pays, that’s what it is. In absolute patience you always shall believe, you always shall see, you always shall realize the Word of the Guru comes handy to you. Man cannot live with you. Guru Nanak is not living with us in physical body, but in Subtle Body, in the Shabad Guru, Nanak is always with us. When we obey the commands, when we live in the Rehit, when we live in the Maryada, when we live in the Akal Moorat, that is our homage to the

About the Sikh Dharma Ministry Newsletter
The Sikh Dharma Ministry Newsletter debuted in July 2001 as a vehicle for enhancing Minister communication and as a source of information about and for Sikh Dharma Ministers. Secretary of Religion SS Dr. Sat Kaur Khalsa noted in 2001 that “the success of this newsletter will depend on the contributions and participation of our Sikh Dharma Ministers.” So far, it has been a great success as it builds a legacy of articles on a wide range of topics. World Parliament of Religions

The gratitude and joy that filled me was for the remembered blessing of being able to call myself a Sikh of the Guru; that as a Sikh, I was from a dharma—a way of life—where serving food to people (which the Sikhs did every day of this parliament) was as natural as breathing. I felt grateful that the truth of that resonated deep within the core of my

NY Interfaith Walk Draws on Diversity
New York is a culturally diverse place colored with an amazing collection of very alive cultural centers and religious communities. My husband and I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, where it is an odd church that has not been converted to a condominium or health club. However, in Queens, NY, you can drive through the neighborhood and feel the presence of a vast colorful diversity of religious centers and spiritual groups that serve the Queens community that have maintained their cultural values. On Sunday, October 18, 2015, SS Siri Vishnu and I were invited to share in the Flushing 7th
