The numerology of 2009 is 11: Mastery, completion. The Siri Singh Sahib said that these times before the dawn of the Aquarian Age will be dark…the end of the Kali Yug (Dark Age). Based on this information, the Minister e-newsletter planning team settled on the theme for this year: “From Darkness to Light,” emanating from Guru Nanak. In the Shabad Satigur Naanak Pargati-aa these words tell the story:
When the True Guru Nanak came into the world, a Light came to shine
over the dirt and the darkness of the world.
Just as the sun and stars shining forth take the darkness away.
The hungry lion becomes like a deer when he hears the Word of the Guru, and comes to rest at peace.
Where Baba Nanak placed His Holy Feet, there places of worship came to be.
The siddhas in postures all over the world were given instruction by Guru Nanak.
In every home is a place of worship, where Kirtan will ever bring joy.
The Guru has saved the entire world, all four continents, as in the beginning, when all the land was united.
In Kali Yuga, the Age of Darkness, the Guru’s Word has been revealed.
Guru for the Aquarian Age
In the four quarterly issues of this newsletter for 2009, we will give you practical tools to navigate through these times in Chardi Kala. What is in our “Minister Toolbox?” How can we keep ourselves positive during this transition time? How can the Guru guide us in these times?
For February, we are focusing on Guru Nanak as the Guru for the Aquarian Age, with wonderful articles by our Sikh Dharma Ministers on their favorite stories of Guru Nanak through the stages of his life and his teachings for all the ages.
In our May issue, we remember the 25th anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Akal Takhat. The August issue will feature personal stories of keep-up and a toolkit for Ministers, and in November, we share words of wisdom from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib.
It is our hope that you find these newsletters helpful and informative. Thank you for your work as a Minister and remember that annual Minister renewal is just around the corner. May God ever bless you and keep you in His light and love.
Humbly,
SS Dr. Sat-Kaur Khalsa
