Sikh Dharma Minister Vows: A Family Celebration
Congratulations and Wahe Guru to Sardarni Sahiba Hari Bhajan Kaur Khalsa of Espanola, NM, on her recent ordination as a Sikh Dharma International Minister.
She was able to take her Minister vows virtually via Zoom at her home gurdwara surrounded by family and was also joined online by friends.
The vows and Minister oath were administered by Secretary of Religion Dr. Sat Kaur Khalsa on January 23, 2021. Attending the Guru, MSS Hari Dharam Kaur, Granthee of the Hacienda de Guru Ram Das Gurdwara, looked on with pride as her eldest daughter became an ordained Sikh Dharma Minister.
SS Siri Chand Singh, Hari Bhajan Kaur’s spouse (who took his Minister vows in 2019) offered a loving Ardas. A beautiful hukam from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib was taken to bless the ceremony. SS Hari Bhajan Kaur’s father and Hari Bhajan Kaur and Siri Chand Singh’s young son also proudly witnessed the service. It was truly a family celebration, filled with tears and smiles of joy, happiness, and devotion.

SDI Virtual Sahej Path Offers a Way to Serve
Ever since the pandemic started in March 2020, Sikh Dharma International has hosted Virtual Sahej Paths as a way to connect with each other, staying in Cherdi Khala and praying for the whole of humanity.
A Sahej (“easy”) Path is a complete reading of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, but it is not done continuously, without stopping. The intent of the SDI Sahej Paths is to basically be an Akhand Path (unbroken reading).
Since we are not all in one place and we are doing it virtually and cannot confirm that it is being done continuously, without pause, we are presenting it as a Sahej Path. So, it is completed in the same three-day time frame as a regular Akhand Path read in English.
Connecting with the Guru can provide much-needed upliftment and comfort during these unprecedented times. Our prayer is that this virtual Sahej Path will give an opportunity for our global Sangat to connect to the Guru within. We ask that Guru guide us during these times of challenge due to coronavirus, and the battle on our planet for equality, respect, love, and peace for ALL human beings.
The 7th Virtual Sahej Path takes place from February 25-28, 2021, and is dedicated to the current plight of the farmers in India and to celebrate the birthday of Bhagat Ravidas Ji, whose devotional poems are included in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib.
