Secretary of Religion Column (2026 Third Quarter)

Dear Sikh Dharma International Ministers,

If you live in a country where you can vote (according to ResearchGate on the internet, there are 15 countries without elections!), what do you do to prepare for voting? Personally, I check several sources that list the candidates, their responses to the same questions that reflect the concerns or priorities of a community/country, read candidates statements, and see their pictures. Then I talk to people who might know more than I do about certain candidates. When I go to vote, I want to be as informed a voter as I can be.

At this time, in our microcosm of Sikh Dharma, we, the “Current Ministers” have been entrusted with the responsibility of voting for three Trustees of the Siri Singh Sahib Corporation (SSSC) in the 2026 SSSC Election.  Presently, in our governance structure, in addition to other responsibilities, this Board oversees the nonprofit and for-profit organizations of the worldwide Sikh Dharma/3HO community and its assets. They also approve board members of these entities. Consequently, it is essential that you vote from an informed, conscious, and neutral mindset. Please take the time to read the candidate statements, listen to and/or participate in the town halls, ask questions, and vote from an informed place. Thank you for the consciousness you bring to this task.

Our theme for the four issues of our 2026 Ministry Newsletter is about the vibration of our Radiant Body—spiritual royalty, courage, radiance and the qualities embodied in our tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji—courage and victory. In keeping with this theme, our Summer Solstice Minister’s Gathering was designed to foster these qualities and support experientially enhancing them.

After “tuning-in”, I framed the gathering by defining these concepts and qualities of our tenth Guru. We then formed a circle and responded to the questions: “What is the importance of embodying the Radiant Body in your seva as a Sikh Dharma Minister?”

At the conclusion of the Minister’s responses to this question, SS Dr. Shanti Shanti Kaur Khalsa instructed us in a Meditation for Radiance: Wahe Guru Pranayam. As we came out of this powerful meditation, we had the blessing of listening to and chanting with the in-person Chardi Kala Jatha playing the Re Man Shabad! It was a wonderful gathering.

Blessings to all of our Ministers. Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh!

Humbly,

SS Dr. Sat-Kaur Khalsa
Secretary of Religion
