The leadership qualities that I identify as most relevant to embody during these times are: commitment to God and Guru and understanding through compassion. This is the time to open up our hearts to those around us, meditate and develop our intuition, and socialize and serve the sangat.
Learning to control our minds while maintaining our spiritual discipline is essential. Even just a smile to heal others can be profound with our bright faces and care, friendship and inspiration.
These times are tough. They are testing us through and through. If we see the times for what they are, a test, and look upon them with neutral eyes, we will be unscathed by time and space.
Dharma is the boat that carries us across the ocean of life, and if we practice the teachings, we will become strong so that many disasters will not touch us.
In conclusion: the inspiration from Guru Gobind Singh that I relate to is to be humble and serve humanity. If a person can do as much as possible to serve and help those in need, they are reflecting the qualities of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Practicing humility and having a kind heart and not expecting anything in return, not even gratitude, is the key to my belief system.
